You may know Orlando as the “Theme Park Capital of the World,” but it’s also a fantastic place for your four-legged friends. This bustling city and the surrounding areas offer plenty of dog-friendly activities that allow you to have a blast while keeping your pup entertained. Whether you’re a resident or visiting with your furry friend, here are some exciting dog-friendly activities to explore in Orlando.

Unleash the Fun at Dog Parks

We know your dog will love Orlando’s dog parks, a perfect place for them to run, play and socialize.  One of our favorite locations is the Dr. Phillips Dog Park, a spacious off-leash area complete with separate sections for small and large dogs. If you’re looking for a unique experience, we recommend the Barber Park Dog Park, which includes a splash pad, a must-do for the hot summer days.

Enjoy a Day Out at Dog-Friendly Breweries

Many Orlando craft breweries have outdoor seating areas where dogs are allowed. Enjoy a pint of locally brewed beer while your pup relaxes by your side. Some notable dog-friendly breweries include the Orlando Brewing Company, Crooked Can Brewing Company, and Hourglass Brewing. Sit back, relax and enjoy quality time with your furry friend in a laid-back environment.

Shop ‘Til You Drop at Dog-Friendly Stores

Did someone say retail therapy? Orlando has several dog-friendly shopping options like Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, where you can pamper your pooch with gourmet treats, stylish accessories, and professional grooming services. We haven’t met a dog that didn’t love Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming!

Discover Nature Trails, Parks and Marinas

Escape the urban hustle and venture into Orlando’s scenic natural areas. Head over to the Paddling Center at Shingle Creek and rent a canoe or kayak to enjoy the tranquility of nature.

We also love the Tibet-Butler Preserve, a peaceful oasis with serene walking trails winding through wetlands and oak hammocks. Note: Please make sure your dog is leashed in this area to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

If you love being on the water, we recommend taking your pup to the Big Toho Marina. Located right on West Lake Toro, this spot is excellent for a day of fishing or a leisurely stroll. You can also grab lunch there if you’re hungry!

Doggie Daycare Options

Whether you’re spending all day at the theme parks, shopping or doing other activities that you can’t take your dog along, there are plenty of great doggie daycare selections like Bass Pet Resort & Spa, which offers full-day, half-day and other options. If you’re going to Disney and don’t want to leave your pup alone all day, Best Friends Petcare is a great option because it’s onsite at Disney and perfect for a day camp.

The Orlando area offers plenty of exciting dog-friendly activities that cater to both locals and tourists. If you’re considering a trip to the Orlando area and need a pet-friendly place to stay, Regal Oaks Resort is a pawsome choice that both you and your furry friend will love.

Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or socialization, Orlando’s dog-friendly activities ensure that your pup will have a tail-wagging good time.  So, pack your bags, leash up your furry friend, and embark on an unforgettable dog-friendly adventure in Orlando!
